Summary of Privacy Policy
You are not under any obligation to produce any personally identifying information (such as your name, address, or e-mail address). We do not collect personally identifying information from you except when you specifically provide it or desire services offered. If you ask to be added to a newsletter or other subscription list, we will use a cookie to keep track of your requests so that you can easily check and revise your subscriptions. We also use cookies to identify your browser so that we can provide the best link to our site. Our computer servers collect information related to your terminal in order to communicate through the internet as well as provide you with up to date and relevant information. We also collect data from visiting computers to analyze and provide better website services. This information must be shared with our internet service provider. We never share your email address with third parties except when you request or in rare instances, to protect our site or cooperate with authorities as required by law.
Information Provided by You
Generally: You may come across locations in the website in which we ask you to provide us voluntarily with information about yourself. In some cases, we are seeking only your email address so that we can send you the specific information that you request, such as a newsletter or online subscription or purchase.
Online Purchases: If you choose to purchase an item through our direct sales service, we will need to collect additional information for billing and shipping, such as your full name, home address, and credit card information. All of these activities—the subscriptions and online purchases—are purely voluntary; if you do not wish to reveal your name, email address or other information, you are free simply to ignore these offerings. If you decide to participate, we will not use your name or email address for any purpose other than as stated, and will not sell or rent your name or address to third parties not affiliated with Beyond Words. If you purchase an item from our website we may share your credit card information with an independent third party service whose function is to verify the information you provide, and we will store and make available information about recent purchases made through our website using your password. In addition, information must be transmitted via Internet servers in order for us to process your information. We will not do anything with such servers to compromise such information.
Feedback: We may ask for your feedback, opinion, or suggestions, and provide you with a link for emailing us your response. We may also ask for your name, zip code, or city of residence to gather geographical information about the visitors to our site. If you send your email to us, it will include your email address in the "From" line. We will use this information only for the purpose of responding to your questions or suggestions, and will not approach you with unsolicited offers or provide your email address to anyone else.
Information Management: Beyond Words may share your personal information with outside contractors or agents who help us manage our information activities (i.e., sweepstakes administration, order fulfillment, statistical analyses), but they may only use your personal information to provide Beyond Words with a specific service and not for any other purpose. Beyond Words shall not be responsible for any third party breach of privacy or non-compliance with this policy.
Advertising and Marketing: Beyond Words may also enter into agreements with outside companies that possess the technology that allows Beyond Words to customize the advertising and marketing messages you receive. Your non-personal information and click stream data about your activities on our sites may be shared with these companies so this customization can be accomplished. To our knowledge, these companies will not share your information with any third party or use it for any other purpose. Anonymous click stream and demographic information may also be shared with Beyond Words' advertisers and business partners.
Disclosure: There may be instances when Beyond Words may disclose personal information without providing you with a choice in order to protect the legal rights of Beyond Words or their employees, agents, and contractors; to protect the safety and security of visitors; to protect against fraud or for risk management purposes; or to comply with the law or legal process. In addition, if Beyond Words sells all or part of its business or makes a sale or transfer of assets or is otherwise involved in a merger or business transfer, Beyond Words may transfer your personal information to a third party as part of that transaction.
Discussion Groups, Bulletin Boards: One last area in which we may ask for your name, or other identifying information is on bulletin boards or forums—places on the site where you can voluntarily participate in a discussion of a particular subject by posting written comments which are then entirely public. We ask for a name simply so that other people reading a string of comments will be able to determine which comments come from the same person. You may, therefore, provide a nickname or alias, if you prefer, so that your identity is not disclosed. You should be aware that if you do voluntarily disclose personal information (e.g. user name, email address) on the bulletin boards or forums, that information can be collected and used by others and may result in unsolicited messages from other posters or parties. If you choose to participate anonymously, you should remember that you are still legally liable for the material you post, including claims of libel, invasion of privacy, and copyright infringement. Even if you post anonymously, authorities may obtain information about you from internet servers and other data tracing techniques. Thus, we request that you not post anything offensive or that you do not mind being disclosed to the general public and certainly not anything illegal.
Cookies
Cookies are electronic tags that most major websites place on your computer in the process of sending your computer a file, such as a web page. Beyond Words uses a service called Google Analytics, and may from time to time use other services, to gather information such as browser type and operating system among other data. We use them in a limited fashion as well. In essence, a cookie is a unique bit of computer code that is placed on your computer the first time you visit our site. It tells us simply when a computer that has previously visited our site returns, and it identifies your computer's browser and operating system to help us make the best connection. We also use cookies to keep track of your subscriptions to various Beyond Words lists. In no event does the cookie we place on your computer tell us anything about your visits to other websites or your use of the Internet in any other way. Authorities may be able to use cookies to track illegal activities.
If you would prefer not to receive any cookies, most browsers can be set to refuse cookies or to alert you when one is being sent. It is possible, however, that some portions of this site may not function properly if the cookies are disabled. Disabling cookies is your responsibility.
Minors and Message to Parents
We do not at present collect any personally identifying information from children under age 13. We cannot be responsible if the information contained in the posting reasonably leads us to believe that the poster is not a minor in which case we cannot be aware and are unaware. We are not responsible for false or misleading information provided to us by our users. Our policy may change in the future, so please check back here regularly to get our latest policy.
We encourage you to get involved with your children's online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating. Since computer usage is anonymous and we have no way of verifying who is logging on, we cannot be responsible for any information obtained by minors. We will do our best to assure that minors are protected to the greatest extent the law allows.
You should be aware that if your children voluntarily disclose their names, email addresses, or other information on bulletin boards or chat areas of this or other web sites, such disclosures may result in unsolicited messages from other parties. We suggest that you discourage your child from providing such information on this site or elsewhere unless you are confident that the information will not be misused.
Links and Other Sites
Our site contains links to other sites that are not under our control, even though they may use the Beyond Words name or logo on their site through an agreement with us. Such other sites do not necessarily follow our privacy policies, and may place their own cookies or other information on your computer. The other sites may also collect information inconsistent with this privacy policy. Once you leave this site, through link or otherwise, you do so at your own risk.
Security of Private Information
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide us from theft, alteration, or unauthorized inspection. In addition, in rare instances, we will disclose private information to necessary parties to protect our site or other visitors, or to cooperate with authorities. While you may receive emails from us that have special offers from our affiliates, you are receiving these messages at your request and not as a result of a sale of your information.
Updates
From time to time Beyond Words may revise this policy statement to reflect industry initiatives or changes in the law, our personal information collection and use practices, the features of our web site(s), or technology. Therefore, you should review it periodically so that you are up to date on our most current policies and practices. If Beyond Words materially changes its practices regarding the collection or use of your personal information, your personal information will continue to be governed by the Policy under which it was collected unless you have been provided notice of and have not objected to the change. Use of the website constitutes your acknowledgement of receipt of this policy and acceptance of the terms herein.

Where this policy is inconsistent with the laws of the territory or country of user origin, including but not limited to the United States, this policy shall be automatically amended to comply with such laws of the territory or country of user origin and the user is hereby notified of such modification as necessary by law.
