This is Dianne Martin's first published book. A former
publicist, she has a degree in Theater Arts from UCLA and
teaches playwriting and screenwriting at Butler University.
She has also written a privately commissioned memoir and
has acted as a consultant for others who are writing their
memoirs. While her educational and professional backgrounds
are in theater and film, she has always had a deep interest
in spirituality and has studied and practiced spiritual
healing all of her life. Born and raised in California,
Dianne now lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband,
Brian Payne, and their son, Jack.
Martin's qualifications are rooted in her character and
in her belief system: She has always felt the desire to
help others, and looks for opportunities to remind people
of their wonderful potential–that at any moment we
can choose to make our thoughts, actions, and lives better.
She feels a spiritual clarity, which she attributes to her
religious background which focuses on spiritual growth and
does not believe in limitations of any sort for anybody.e
"I intend." With
those two words, the whole world can change. Whenever we
think, speak, or act, we create our experience at that moment.
There has been a lot of recent talk about the power of "intention" in
deliberately creating what we want in life. But just how
does the everyday person access this power? The Book of
Intentions is an inspirational, nondemoninational, nonfiction
book of universal wisdom that will help readers take the
first step in creating intentions that will allow them to
get what they want out of life.
When we take notice of our intentions, take responsibility
for our intentions, and take control of our intentions,
we can create a more harmonious and productive environment
for ourselves and those around us. Each chapter of The Book
of Intentions relates to an area of life, with a short introduction
and an offering of sample intentions, all rooted in spirituality,
in stanza form. Readers can open at any page and find universally
meaningful expressions of intention regarding our relationships
with family and friends, the Earth, and God. Written from
the readers' own perspective–"I intend"–the
intentions will resonate on a personal level for each individual..
The author, Dianne Martin, was writing her intentions for
her own life when it occurred to her how many of us have
common goals (in work, play, love, spirituality, family,
and so on). She created this simple, straightforward list
as a tool to help others. Readers will identify with and
be uplifted by Martin's crystalline insights into the familiar,
thought-provoking, and inspiring themes, and feel inclined
to share them with others.
Powerful but practical, The Book
of Intentions will speak to readers on both a spiritual
and human level, addressing human needs and considerations
while affirming our true existence and identity. Once
read, it will remain a spiritual touchstone.
