| Description |
Conversations with Dog is a groundbreaking
book in the field of human–animal communication. In
a question-and-answer format, author Kate Solisti-Mattelon
accesses canine consciousness. This is the first book of its
kind to pose questions to dogs and receive answers in return.
These answers are not based on what human beings suppose dogs
think. Instead, Solisti-Mattelon, a practicing animal communicator,
goes straight to the dogs themselves. This book offers answers
to basic questions such as, "Why do you bark? Why do
you chase cats? Why do you bury your bones? Why do you roll
in smelly stuff?" But Conversations with Dog also asks
bigger questions like, "Where do you go when you die?
How can you find the person you love when there are hundreds
or thousands of miles between you? Why is it easier to be
with dogs than with most people? Why can it be harder to lose
a beloved dog than a human friend or family member? What is
your purpose? How are you helping me be happy, well, and whole?
What is the meaning of life?" Some people believe that
talking with animals is the stuff of fantasy or of children's
stories like Dr. Doolittle and Beatrix Potter. The truth is
that most of us who own dogs know they are trying to tell
us something and that for centuries dogs have demonstrated
uncanny intelligence through remarkable acts of loyalty and
self-sacrifice. Conversations with Dog breaks through the
species barrier and goes beyond personal stories to ask dogs
what they want to tell all of us. |
